Book Creator

Зображення
Book Creator seemed to be very interesting to me. It's one of the simplest and most inclusive ways to create content in the classroom. As far as I teach remotely, I could use this tool for creating online text-books for my students (a lot of them don't have paper books because they are abroad or in other parts of Ukraine). It would be nice to have all the material with necessary links, videos, quizzes in one place. For students, Book Creator is a great opportunity for collaborative work and creating their own piece of masterpiece. What is more, Book Creator has got a whole range of books created by teachers and students that can be a great source of of inspiration foy you! https://bookcreator.com/

Student Standards

Зображення
The first student standard that I would love to implement in my classroom is a global collaborator. These s tudents use digital  tools  to broaden their perspectives and enrich their learning by collaborating with others and working effectively in teams locally and globally. In the realia of my country collaboration with others and team work skills are of vital importance. Another student standard that I'd love to implement is a digital citizen with s tudents recognizing the rights, responsibilities and opportunities of living, learning and working in an interconnected digital world, and they act and  model  digital citizenship in ways that are safe, legal and ethical. Incorporating a digital citizen student standard into the curriculum ensures that students are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values they need to thrive in an increasingly digital society while promoting ethical and responsible behavior online.

Multicultural Literature in the Classroom

In my opinion, i ncluding multicultural literature in the classroom is essential for several reasons. For example, m ulticultural literature reflects the diverse experiences, perspectives, and identities of students. It validates their own experiences and identities by providing characters and stories they can relate to. Exposure to multicultural literature also fosters cultural awareness and understanding among students. It introduces them to different cultures, traditions, and ways of life, helping to break down stereotypes and promote empathy and respect for diversity. Multicultural literature encourages students to critically analyze and reflect on issues such as identity, privilege, discrimination, and social justice as well as prepares students to be global citizens. I ncorporating multicultural literature into the curriculum helps students develop cultural competence—the ability to interact effectively and respectfully with people from different cultures. It's not only a m...

The biggest surprise so far

Зображення
I have been in Chico, CA for a week already and it doesn't stop surprising me! A lot of things are absolutely different from those in Ukraine. Food, clothes, streets, big cars (they love big cars here, huh?😏)... But what really makes me feel like in another world is people being so friendly, kind and supportive to us. I love these people being frank, caring and warm-hearted, ready to help us adapt to the new community. They love their homeplace and do not want to move in search of a better life, they do everything to improve their life here in Chico!
